This was a 40 foot long u-boat model which we made in Shepperton Studios in England. This was towed by a camera boat and controlled by a diver who was inside it driving the model. All filmed in the sea on the south coast of England, possibly the best shoot I have ever been on. Months of being in the sea changing one model to look like a whole fleet of U-boats. Once the director saw the footage we were making the visual effects shots were changed from 50 to 150 shots.
